Ramona was founded in the early 1990s. In the team’s early years, a meeting was called to decide on a female namesake. Although it was a tough decision, the team settled on Ramona Quimby, the child protagonist of many Beverly Cleary novels. Hence the women’s team is called Ramona, affectionately referred to as Mona. Fast forward 30 years and Mona is still as spunky and lively as our beloved namesake, who was known to be “gritty, fun and … not afraid to get dirty.”
